CSIR NET June 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

• Degrees Accepted –  M.Sc., Integrated BS-MS, BS (4 years), BE, B.Tech, B.Pharma, MBBS with at least 55% marks (50% for OBC, SC, ST, PwD, and Third Gender).
• Result Awaited Candidates – Final-year students can apply under “Result Awaited,” provided they complete their degree within two years post-exam.
• Bachelor Degree Holders – Eligible only for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) but must enroll in a PhD within two years for fellowship benefits.
• PhD Holders – can apply for a Lectureship if their Master’s degree was completed before 19 September 1991 with at least 50% marks.

Age Limit

• For JRF Post – The maximum eligible age is 28 years (relaxations of 5 years for SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender, 3 years for OBC).
• For Lectureship or Assistant Professor positions – No upper age limit is set by CSIR NET 2025.

Note – Candidates in the third gender category receive the same fee, age, and mark relaxations as SC/ST.

The exam paper of CSIR NET with five distinct subjects includes Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences. CSIR NET Passing Marks 2025
