Reservations Criteria of UGC NET NTA 2025
The Central Universities and Institutions have reservations of seats based on Reservation Policy of Government of India. The number of seats as per reserve category is available below.
- Scheduled Caste (SC) Candidates get 15% of the seat reservation.
- Participants from Scheduled Tribe (ST) are offered 7.5% of seat reservation.
- 27% of seats are reserve for Other Backward Classes (OBC) Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) candidates.
- General-Economically Weaker Sections (General-EWS) candidates get 10% of the seat reservation.
- 05% of the seats in the categories as mention above for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) with 40% or
more disability is offered.

UGC NET 2025 Exam Pater consists of two sections. Both sections will consist of multiple choice questions. There is no break between the papers. Simple explanation of exam pattern is available below in tabular form.

Section 1 of the paper first covers questions about reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of candidates which assess the teaching/ research aptitude. Paper 2 is based on the subject selected by the candidate and will assess domain knowledge.
NTA UGC NET 2025 Marking Scheme
By the exam pattern, this should be clear to all that each question carries 2 marks. This means for each correct response, the candidate will get two marks. There is no negative marking for incorrect responses. No marks for questions unanswered/un-attempted/marked for review. If a question is found incorrect/ambiguous or has multiple correct answers, only those candidates who have attempts the question and chosen one of the correct answers will only get marks.
